It all started in 1987. I was producing a play on the Edinburgh Fringe and wanted to take some photos. I didn't have a camera. Even though I was virtually broke, I bought a Miranda SLR with no box. I managed to take some shots of my show and various others.

Photography has been my main hobby, evolving as I worked abroad and travelled to various places, allowing me to capture precious moments, precious people, places and animals.

Digital photography has opened more opportunities, I love playing with photoshop and trying out new equipment, using Pentax for play and Canons at other times.

Every year I come back to the Edinburgh Festival and take pictures between going to shows. I am passionate about the theatre and developing opportunities for young people in the arts.

2012 will mean over 25 years since I first photographed the fringe.
