I'm a naturalist from Belgium, mainly focussing on Lepidoptera. This Flickr page was initially meant to gather pictures of butterflies in the Western Palearctic but gradually grew to other regions and other organisms.

Taxonomy is a scientific discipline with constantly changing knowledge and with a lot of different opinions, often divided between "splitters" and "lumpers". I mostly try to follow a position "in the middle".

Ofcourse, as I am based in Belgium there will be a bias on the coverage to the low countries and France.
