I'm a retired radio communications and cellular telephone technician, field engineer and operations manager. I also spent several years working, mostly part-time, as a broadcast announcer/DJ spinning everything from records in the 1960’s to hard-drives in 2010. I also served in the U.S. Air Force as a radar technician from 1968 through 1972.

Although born and raised in Marquette, Michigan, USA, I spent most of my life in Biloxi (on the Mississippi Gulf Coast), and Austin, Texas with a short stay in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand in 1970/71.

I returned home to Marquette, Michigan after I retired in 2008.

I've always had an interest in photography. My first camera was a Kodak Brownie Starmite that I purchased with S&H Green Stamps when I was a teenager. I've had several cameras since including a Pentax, Minolta, Casio and a few Canon. I use a Canon T6i today, and consider myself an amateur/hobbyist photographer. Yes, I make mistakes, but I still enjoy taking pictures.

Amateur radio is another hobby of mine, and since 1961 I've held the call-signs WN8AQL, WB5FCO, WJ5MH and AJ8MH.
