INTRODUCTION

 

AFED stand for Ahadi For Excellent Development.

Ahadi is a Swahili word which means Promise. AFED ls a volunteering organization inhabitants in Kigamboni area and we are working close with the government of United Republic of Tanzania dedicated to providing youth with an opportunity to learn about other communities, culture and people while developing leadership and communication skills to fight against ignorance, diseases, and poverty. Being part of kigamboni community, we have being touched by these shortcomings and have decided to establish an organization by the name AFED so that we can jointly help to address those social and economic challenges by investing on youth and use the available resources for current generation without compromising the coming generation. We are doing different social activities in bringing community development such as in education and health, environment, gender issues, sport and games, as well as women Empowerment in order to improve level of development particularly starting from individual level, family level, community level and finally at national level through volunteering with local communitiesin Tanzania

The objectives of the organization are;

1- To promote inclusive Development and Education progressive

 

2-To facilitate skills development and strengthening employment opportunities

 

3-To promote gender equality

 

4- To raise awareness on environmental conservation

 

5- To facilitate for better child welfare especially those who are living in dangerous environment

AFED is a volunteering organization in Tanzania. We are happy to announce, that volunteering opportunities are open up this summer /holiday season. Our projects are in a setup of Long Term Volunteer Project (LTVP), Work Camp (WC) and HomeStay Project (HP). On whatever skills you have, you can find a community that can benefit from them!

 

FIELDS OF WORK IS SOCIAL SPHERE

Working with children, skill development, youth with fewer possibilities, work with people with special needs, some projects focus on agriculture, community living, education, environmental protections and gender issues (Women Empowerment).

 

PROFILE OF VOLUNTEER

1. You are about 18 years and above

2. Interest, motivation and enthusiasm in working with people

3. To work in a reliable and responsible way

4. Punctuality, flexibility, maturity and pro-activeness

5. Open minded and high motivation for volunteer work

Our projects are open to everyone regardless of their ethnic background, religious conviction or sexual orientation and it is from January to December.

PROJECT, NO 1

Long Term Volunteer Projects (LTVP)

Our projects are Long Term Volunteer Projects ranging from 1-6 Months. Is a unique project which gives a chance for volunteers to have more experience and balance the single side story

 

ACCOMMODATION

Volunteer will be living in the host family and be part of the family member. You will be socially included and get a close insight into everyday life of Tanzanian family where you will learn more things which will help you to increase your understanding by knowing unknown which will help you to balance the single side story.

 

PROJECT, NO 2

Work Camps (WC)

Work camp is the project which bring together people from different countries with different historical background, culture, understanding, etc. The project designed in camping way of delivering community services. Both local and international volunteers live together and share their social life, skills, knowledge and experience. Work camp helps the volunteers to learn new things from one another, Travel to discover the world and be global citizens, learn together and act together. This project has duration of 2-3 weeks.

 

PROJECT, NO 3

HOMESTAY PROJECT (HP)

This is a unique protect which brings together youth from different Universities and Colleges as a way of being UN SDGs Advocate. Volunteers come together and Challenge the Challenges Challenging SDGs. This project includes hot discussions on SDGs, logical and critical questions as well as taking actions toward challenges in order to have Excellent Development. Duration of this project is 2-3 weeks in a setup of HP.

 

Once you apply you will probably hear from our team through telephone or Skype interview to get to know you better. Via email the team will recommend a day and time for an interview to you. This interview also gives you the possibility to ask questions and find out if the project is the right choice for you.

 

FURTHERMORE

AFED is hosting special project which is already organized by the volunteer themselves who are coming as a group and want to do something for the community.
