I am retired and live in the East Midlands. I am married with a son and daughter and four grandchildren. Since about the age of 7 I've been interested in railways. I had my first camera, a Kodak Brownie 127, when I was 11 years old. This was replaced, in March 1965, with a secondhand 35mm Ilford Sportsman. My modus operandi in those days comprised of taking photos, having the film developed and then waiting for the time that my spending money would run to having prints taken. This didn't materialise until later on so, regrettably, I never looked critically at my photos to assess how I could improve. My technique did, though, improve over time but a step change occurred at the end of 1982 when, through work, I met Graham. He had a similar interest in railways and, crucially, was quite an accomplished photographer. I soon became hooked on "gricing" and learnt a lot from Graham, developing and improving my photographic skills significantly. All the photos posted here as MR_nnnnr were taken by me.
