Don't think I look too bad for a 67 year old bird!

For over 50 years (from the age of 8?) I thought I was a really rubbish boy/man, I simply didn’t get it and cannot abide macho bullshit!

Male fashion is bland; the 70s and 80s were a bit more colourful and I went from hippy hair to well groomed dude in Dior and Zegna silk suits. In the 80s I went dancing with two girls who could have been models - gorgeous, tall, slim, well dressed - the three of us just ‘made’ an entrance, me in the middle with a blonde on one arm and a redhead on the other. Sadly both had their lives ruined by men.

I have never enjoyed a lads night out, never! In 2014 I was dared to crash a hen party and got dressed by one of the girls. I liked it, loved it, then that fateful thought popped into my head ‘I should have been a girl’, it repeated in my head until it was a constant scream ‘I SHOULD have been a girl’. I was confused, excited, disgusted. I was one of those! I didn’t know the vocabulary or anything of gender identity, it was a whole new world.

I sought therapy, talked things through and argued and argued with myself and in 2018 reluctantly accepted I was transgender. Being transgender in limbo is absolutely fucking awful!

September 1st 2020 marked day 1 of HRT to transition.

Femininity for me is empowering, it is strong, it is fulfilling; it is not weak or subservient. Playing housewife, pandering to a husband is simply not my fantasy; my reality is a stylish, confident, guitar playing, ultra running, mature chick who rides a motorbike and drives a sports car.
