HELP NDACA DESCRIBE UK DISABILITY HISTORY AND CULTURE - PLEASE TAG!

I'm working as the project archivist for NDACA, the National Disability Arts Collection and Archive, a project that will bring to life the rich history of the UK-based Disability Arts Movement. The Disability Arts Movement began in the late 1970s and continues today. This is the heritage story of a group of disabled people and their allies who broke barriers, helped change the law with the Disability Discrimination Act of 1995, and made great culture and art along that journey.

When NDACA goes live in April 2018, the project will preserve an archive of over 3000 deposits. Our launch will see the opening of uniquely accessible research facilities at a UK university and the NDACA website, which will offer a full catalogue, interactive learning resources, an oral history film series of our depositors, opportunities for a new generation of disabled artists and more.

As part of developing the catalogue, I've uploaded a small sample of images (with descriptive text from the NDACA catalogue) from the collection for tagging. Your tags will be used to generate a folksonomy to help ensure the catalogue descriptions achieve archival standards, as well as representing the language and terminology used by disabled people, their allies and other audiences. You can read more about the project here: the-ndaca.org/. Thank you
