As a small child I struggled to learn to communicate because I have a Language Disorder. I learned to talk by attending a Specialised Language Unit. However it was hard to follow people, films and TV programs. I learnt to understand and grasp their meaning by repeatedly watching and listening carefully to Pokemon and other programmes. When I went to an after-school club I was exposed to video games for the first time and became fascinated with the first Spyro the Dragon game. I have had a slight obsession with dragons ever since. This gave me a way and structure to be able and to want communicate and socialise with other children.

I decided I wanted to be an animator as soon as I realised that it was a possible career when I was 12 years old and it is all that I have wanted since then. I enjoy it immensely. I am a visual communicator with English as my second language.

I have used a variety of computer software applications. As a child I used Microsoft Paint with a mouse, and also Stop Motion Pro. Later I learnt Photoshop CS6 and began using a Wacom Cintiq graphics tablet. At college I gained experience in using Flash Animate and Maya 3D software. At the moment I am beginning to learn Toon Boom Harmony, as I have found that the movement in Animate can look a bit wooden and want to improve the smoothness of my animation.
