My main interest is in wildlife as an amateur photographer. I particularly enjoy that very intimate feeling when the subject engages directly towards the camera so my favourite image is the Common Seal. He (she?) reminds me so much of Alf Garnett from "Till Death Us Do Part" every time I look at him!

I chose my current Panasonic Lumix GX7 as it combines all the special features I need to capture birds in flight, fast moving animals and also challenging night time astrophotography with my Swarovski 95mm Spotting 'scope as a high magnification lens with my Astrotrac tracking device.

My standard lens is the lightweight 100-300 Lumix Zoom which allows hand held sharp images at full zoom with low noise even at 1600 ISO and above when necessary. The only problem with night-time astrophotography is how cold it gets and how infrequent we get clear nights for viewing here in the UK.

Focus is critical for a good image, but it is also very important to crop the image to suit the subject...so most image geometry is dictated by this, I hope you will agree with me on this.

IMPORTANT: All images in my jcreedy01 Photostream, Albums and Galleries are protected by Copyright and the owner is John H Creedy. Any copying, use or reproduction in any way will be considered an infringement of copyright unless express written consent is obtained from the owner in advance.

NB1...I disabled Flickr downloads but will authorise quality downloads by email agreement. Note that Flickr enlargements are shown at abysmally low quality degraded by Flickr which suggests images are not as high quality as they really are. My own authorised downloads are identical to original upload quality and far superior to Flickr displays.

NB2...My faves show exactly what can be achieved by other more experienced amateurs in selected fields...the images I am keen to aspire to myself with my own restricted equipment.
