Retired from a career in timberland management. I started photography about 1964 with a Kodak Instamatic in order to remember mountaineering adventures; the shots were more documentary than artistic, except for a few lucky exceptions. The Instamatic fell to its demise off the west face of Sahale Mtn. about 1970, so it was replaced with a Yashica SLR, then a Nikon 6006 (8008?). Over the years I turned more toward photography as an art, although serious mountaineering continued until a few years ago. The change to digital has been a blessing, and mountains of old slides and negatives have been waiting for years for their turn in the scanner. I now use a Nikon Z7 and enjoy shooting landscapes, travel experiences and European medieval towns.
