I like to take pictures and works within genres including burlesque and lingerie through to retro film noir themes crime scenes and gothic horror. You could call it edgy boudoir I like to emphasise beauty, character, sexuality and the erotic but by NOT doing adult themes or anything explicit. Happy to shoot topless but not adult. If you want a gynecological investigation by camera you wont find it here!!

I love doing retro type stuff borne out of an interest in Film Noir. This is inspired by such modern Neo-Noir films as LA Confidential for example. The dark themes that this genre brings in terms of mood and style are inspiring. The theme is often a retro set up with a contemporary twist encouraging models to exploit the elegance, sophistication and glamour of the period but often in a contemporary context. In modern film women disappeared from the lead roles in film except within the genres from the 40's-50's. Without being cliched in retro terms I try and shoot in those genres namely neo-noir/film noir/femme fatale. I like to empower the female by effectively playing the male roles, enfranchising them to explore other characters/roles.

"The dark, strong femme fatale of noir is the main female character in these movies. These women are given not only sexual powers, but also ambitions. They are longing or looking for independence, often economic, and freedom, often from relationships with men. These women that are masters and possessors of their own sexuality represent a danger to the males. She is--because of her ambitions and independence--a threat to the patriarchal system. On account of this she gives the males a feeling of alienation from his environment, and she must be punished for this to restore the patriarchal balance. The femme fatale is promiscuous, exiting, intelligent and narcissist while her opposite is the boring, but stable wife and mother. The virgin is capable of total devotion to the male, something that the sexual woman is not. The former is thus described as the ideal role for women, and it fits in well with patriarchy."
