Street or documentary photography is probably what I enjoy doing most, although natural history (birds mainly) comes a close second. Covid more or less put a stop to the former for 18 months, but things are beginning to pick up again now. Most of my urban photography is monochrome, because I love the abstraction of the format, and find that colour rather gets in the way of the story, in that one tends to look primarily at the colour, rather than what the image is trying to say. I like to make very simple, uncluttered images, whether working as a nature or an urban photographer.
