Most of my experience has involved landscape and travel photography at locations such as China, India, Peru, Cambodia, Italy, and the American west. Now, my interest, training, and experience is expanding to portrait photography. I've studied portrait photography techniques through the writings of David Ziser, Bryan Peterson, and Roberto Valenzuela. What I love about photography -- including portrait work -- is the melding of both the technical and the creative/artistic process. Good photography is hard to achieve, but when you do it well -- you can create visual magic. I live in the Kingstowne area of Northern Virginia (on the edge of Alexandria).
I deeply appreciate the support and mentoring of my professional photographer friend, Don Rosenberger of Fairfax, Virginia. With his help, I've learned how to see the world through a camera lens for the first time.
Thanks also to my wife and daughter, who have taken me to places and adventures that were previously unimaginable.
