Washington College GIP
Drag to set position!
The Geospatial Innovation Program (GIP) had a humble beginning, starting out with only a handful of student interns and one staff member operating out of a small computer lab classroom in Goldstein Hall. Now we boast a thriving staff of savvy technical analysts, ambitious interns, youth educators, and enterprising mapmakers. Here our undergrad students have the educational opportunity to make meaningful, hands-on contributions to real GIS projects. We work with partners like the Maryland Highway Safety Office, the Upper Shore Regional Counsel, Kent County, our Center for Environment and Society, and the Town of Chestertown to build a deeper understanding of the land we live on and the human networks we move through.
Visit our website to read more about our growth and the plethora of projects we work on, using GIS to support our community: www.washcoll.edu/centers/ces/gis/.
