I got interested in photography when I was a schoolboy, but really only started to really enjoy it when I retired.
I have been on numerous bird photography holidays and workshops but now in my 80s I only use one camera, a Sony RX10 Mk IV, ( a bridge camera) which gives me a huge range in one lens (24mm-600mm) including Macro, and now my new iPhone 12 Pro.
I am never happier than when I just walk in a location snapping away at what ever takes my eye. I use a monopod but do not take hours setting up
pictures. As a result not every shot is pin sharp but this does not worry me one little bit. It is the taking pictures that I enjoy and if one or two turn
out to be OK, then so be it. The last people that I care about are Camera club judges who nowadays make me squirm with their comments.
Mind you that is the very last job that I would want to do and I admire them for dong it. I hope that some people enjoy some of the pictures that I take.
It seems they do, especially if they are not photographers themselves.
God Save the Queen.
