An amateur photographer, I live in Redding, California USA. Around me are two famous volcanoes from the Cascade Range, Mt. Lassen at 10,463′ and Mt. Shasta at 14,180′'; both of which are considered potentially active. Snow melt from the Mt. Shasta area forms the Sacramento River which flows into famous Lake Shasta, the largest reservoir in California created in the 1940's when Shasta Dam was constructed. Redding is at the southern end of the forests of the majestic Pacific Northwest. So we have tall mountains, winter snows, green forests, rivers, lakes, fish, fowl, wildlife, and -- unfortuntely -- wildfires.
