Open Design Course for Refugees and Asylum seekers

Eight weeks on Open Design Course to develop a learning and working platform together. The course programme focuses on Open Design approaches in media, product and systems design while the method is based on co-creation and peer learning.

WE STUDIED Open Design in the first five ‘input’ weeks based on the free sharing of information, networked collaboration, digital fabrication, open tools and alternative methods of creation.

Through workshops and guest lectures a clearer view was obtained on how to situate Open Design in the realm of applied design as well as in experimental media art and the broader context of online or network culture where it can also be seen as a field of discourse, critically expanding our notion of design and conceptions of society.
