I'm an old geezer, 73, and retired polymer chemist/material scientist. My wife and I have had a peripatetic existence - growing up in Illinois followed by periods in Nashville, Maryland, Boston, Michigan, Ohio, Michigan (the sequel) and finally in SE coastal Texas. Beyond my intense focus on family, my interests center on entertaining automobiles (including my current Porsche 911 and BMW M240i), church activities, listening to and playing jazz and blues with other guys who like to jam, bicycling and photography. I've been an avid sailor since I was about 12 years old, and I - and later my wife and I - have owned a succession of sailboats, the last of which was Cut Time, a Catalina 30 MkIII, which we sold a few years ago as age crept up both on Cut Time and us. I've been doing photography off and on since 1978, when I got my first SLR - a Pentax MX. Like most sailors, I'm not adverse to a cold beer or - better still - a gin and tonic if there's lots of ice and the gin is Tanqueray :-).
