My intention with most of my photographs was to encapture subjects, items, or places that provoke the viewer to consider a story or the situation surrounding the photo. I enjoyed capturing most of the photos spontaneously, however the few that were staged I found to be more reflective of my intentions. As I took more photos I realized that I really liked a heavy contrast between dark and light, and capturing either lights or strong colors. I think I took a lot of inspiration from city life, and also polaroid pictures. I enjoy the way polaroid pictures look natural and unstaged with a dark contrast, and I think I took a lot of inspiration from that. I also really enjoy animals, so I use a lot of animals as my subjects in photos. I enjoy capturing their expressions, especially in their eyes. The photos I have taken in the past are definitely a lower quality of picture, however I think I have always liked the same style of picture. A lot of the photos I took were in the moment, but some of my favorite such as the still life with the roses and the photo recreation were staged. Ultimately I think I was trying to express just some of the things in my life that I appreciate and want to remember and look back on with fondness, and that there is always something around you that is worth taking a photo of.
