I'm a private tour guide based in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany. I started my company in 1989, European Focus, by going out and taking photographs of little towns and villages for people who were tracing their family trees. I started out doing this as a hobby while working full-time as a photographer for the European "Stars and Stripes" newspaper, published in Griesheim, Germany. I was in the US Navy from 1984-94 and the Stars and Stripes was my final assignment, from 1989-94. During that time I got addicted to the thrill of travel, and so soon after leaving the Navy I started European Focus Private Tours, combining my successful hobby with a new and at the time revolutionary way for people to experience Europe through a private, custom-designed tour created just for them and their families or friends. As of the end of the 2017 season we have completed 294 tours in 18 different countries.
