Here we don't really need to communicate by words. I see which pictures you like and you see which I like. I can sense the mood you are in or see and understand what moves you and you can do the same with my pictures.
Nevertheless, more than faves I love if somebody writes a comment. I have to admit I am a bit lazy with writing comments but I try my best.
Photography was in our home all my life. My mother worked as a photo lab technician when she was very young, and I learned it in school, but just for a short while, whereas one of my brothers was very proficient with it. As a child I had a plastic Diana which unfortunately I gave away some years later. Then I had a Olympus OM 20. Years later when digital SLR came out I was a proud owner of a Nikon D700, which I still have but which has some issues.
Through a very close friend I came back to film photography and I would like to do more of it as I love the organic feel of it, similar to analog music recordings (I never liked the sound of CD's etc.)
Sometimes I think I should carry a camera all the times, but then, I leave it at home on purpose, knowing very well, that on these occasions I happen to regret it! :-)
There was a time when I didn't really understood why my mother took photos of flowers in the garden, when I thought they should rather be looked at with one's eyes and all that taken into the heart. I was fully satisfied with looking with my eyes and heart and retaining all in the memory. Why and when did this change? Well it was in the late 2000's. Something in me wanted to be expressed, as it happened with music many years before.

When the mind is kept away from its preoccupations, it becomes quiet. If you do not disturb this quiet, and stay in it, you find that it is permeated with a light and love you have never known. And yet, you recognize it at once as your own nature.
Im Herzen scheint ein Licht, sich selber inne, einzig wirklich: das bist du.

Space comes with a "yes" to what is.
Eckhart Tolle
Of what avail is knowing things
Other than the Self? And the Self being known,
What other thing is there to know?
That one light that shines as many selves,
Seeing this Self within
As Awareness' lighting flash;
The play of Grace; the ego's death;
The blossoming of Bliss.
from Atma Vidya (Self Knowledge) of Sri Ramana Maharshi
Look to your Self for the answers. Everything is within you. Learn to be still. Find out who's worried, who fears, who's unhappy, who's depressed, who's sick and you will say, "I am, but who am I?" and follow the I to its source. And the "I" will disappear of its own accord. The realization will come, that you are absolute reality and that all is well and everything is unfolding as it should.
Robert Adams
Stay open and quiet, that is all. What you seek is so near you, that there is no place for a way.

one of my favorite parts of Flickr is the randomness that is part of it. this is a photographer who plays in that random world the way a sax player riffs in alley or in a valley someplace. after I wrote this, I looked further and music is also what he does. Who knew? Anyway, go listen with your eyes ...
