South Cheshire Advanced Motorcyclists (S.C.A.M.) was established in 1994 in order to promote a higher and safer standard of riding in South Cheshire and surrounding areas. Since its formation the group has grown steadily over the years and today has a membership in excess of one hundred and twenty members. South Cheshire Advanced Motorcyclists is affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (I.A.M. RoadSmart) a road safety organization with a recognized qualification.

The Group runs three IAM RoadSmart “Advanced Rider” courses each year. The course comprises an induction evening, course books, the IAM RoadSmart Advanced test, twelve months Associate membership to the I.A.M, six observed training rides and twelve months S.C.A.M. membership.

Although dedicated to raising rider skills to a higher standard, South Cheshire Advanced Motorcyclists also promote an active social calendar, there are social rides on every Sunday of each month, and during the Summer there is an evening ride on the first, second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month. If there is a fifth Wednesday in a month there is no ride out. In addition to these rides there have been long weekends in Scotland and Ireland, and in recent years we have organized trips to France, Germany, Norway, Spain and Portugal.
