I take photos with my point-and-shoot, all for fun and memories. I'm in love with urban settings, and a cityscape at dusk, with some saxophone music in the background, is heavenly. I'm also in love with much of Milwaukee and Chicago, and Chicago bungalows all lined up in a row, make me want to walk those sidewalks for hours. Bucolic country settings, fields of corn, the back roads, the city streets, the alleys, the faces...sometimes, the stories told, are better than reading a book.
Did you ever choose the alley, instead of the sidewalk? The color of the brick, the stone, the windows reflecting the day; the textures, the design, the purpose...it speaks, quietly, but forcefully..."See me?" "I'm not adorned in all the fancy...and I wear what I wore when born. Nothing new to replace the shabby...nothing new to replace the worn." What beauty you can find in the alley...the graceful falling from grace. Don't forget about the alley.
