I very rarely write testimonials. There are so many great photographers, working in such diverse genres, that choosing who gets a testimonial would be arbitrary. Then, every once in a while, I discover someone who works on a different plane. Night Mares's uncanny vision, and her ability to interpret that vision through photography, is awe inspiring. Her work is not simply "good" (great, tremendous, whatever), it's uniquely good. Every single photo is a complex composition portraying an instant in time that is somehow familiar--we recognize what is happening--but in a diaphanous way. We have a fleeting glimpse but feel there is more going on than we can understand. Her work is compelling in the most literal sense; we feel compelled to look. The eroticism with which her work is infused evokes so many feelings: the uneasy thrill of voyeurism; the carnal reaction to her body; perhaps guilt for that carnal reaction; the desire/need to see more; the appreciation and wonderment of how she uses her form to create superb art. Her photographs bring to mind Renoir's bathers, Ingres's Odalisque, David, the Venus de Milo. Her body is art.

I have often thought about writing a testimonial for Night Mares -- Tracy -- but have wondered what to write that isn't trite or banal. Tracy is an artist, through and through. She draws you in with her sexier images, but if you are anything like me, you stay for the remarkable talent she exhibits in every photo. You soon realize that her photography isn't about what you think it might be about, but about a desire to be known. Whether it is a titillating image with some degree of nudity or another, a photo of a pumpkin (!), a landscape, or a lone man at a museum, Tracy is really taking you on an intimate trip through her life to experience it with her. It is easy to imagine that Tracy is your friend because she keeps you coming back, gives you plenty to identify with, and creates a sense of intimacy that makes the viewer feel somehow both special and familiar; it is as if one were a member of a special inner circle of her friends. She has a distinct style that is inimitable, a wonderful eye for composition, an outstanding talent for choreography, and great skill at toning and coloring. Make no mistake, fellow viewer, Tracy is a serious artist. Deal with her with the respect she is due and she will, in fact, become your friend. It worked for me!

Browsing through this photos I see brilliant collection, a lot of well thought out photos, very creative! Your sense of composition makes your photos really stand out from the regular fair of photos I see every day. Everything from classic nudes to highly erotic proving that the human body doesn't need Photoshop but a story to tell to be beautiful. Taking an image, freezing a moment, reveals how rich reality truly is and I think you reflect that reality in your images superbly, well done. Anyways my gratitude for capturing so many well done photos.
