Based in what is arguably the most beautiful county in England - Mr. Darcy's Derbyshire - Mrs. Leach (garbed in the fineries of her era, and often accompanied by artefacts of the age) steps out of the past & into the present day for the education and amusement of would-be time travellers: this lady antiquary aims to inform in an accessible, absorbing, and entertaining manner.

She brings Georgian and Regency England to life by applying archaeological approaches to investigating everyday life in the 'long eighteenth century', through the material traces left behind by previous generations.

Her studies explore emotions and experiences, and seek out sensations - sights and sounds, often touch, and sometimes tastes and smells - to consider what people in the past felt and thought.

Examining a range of historical material, she aims to share her discoveries in fun and informal ways that enabling hands-on encounters with artefacts and historic environments, and at times employing 'archaeological storytelling', providing workshops, tours, talks, & digital 'cultural heritage experiences'.

Her modern-day self (Dr. J., BA (Hons.), MA, PhD, ACIfA) has taught in Adult Education for the WEA, University of Nottingham, Keele University, & University of Oxford, and now teaches freelance.
