--- You'll notice I'm not fixated on composing a photo to fit into a "standard format" (8x10", etc). I compose to show the subject honestly and it'll be cropped to exclude anything that doesn't contribute to the photo. Cropping a photo to fit the subject rather than compose to fit the frame is the way I've printed my photos for years. If the photo doesn't fit neatly into your cell phone screen without scrolling, too bad... I don't care...

--- I also make and market replicas of photography's first lens invented by Willam Wollaston in 1814. Two hundred years ago optics were crude but their soft images are being re-discovered by folks re-inventing historic wet plate processes where such lenses were used.
