My day job is researching Jupiter and Saturn using the largest telescopes in the world (e.g. Keck, in Hawaii). I usually split light into it's component wavelengths to discover things about planetary atmospheres, but in recent years I'm learning the ropes of photography and astrophotography.

I use an 8 inch Celestron Nexstar 8 SE (Cassegrain) telescope and a Canon T3i (650D) DSLR, but on my way to collecting better equipment in the future! It's an expensive business I see... :)
