If I'm going to take the same photos as everyone else, I might as well give away my camera..

"I photograph to find out what something will look like photographed."

Garry Winogrand

"There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept."

Ansel Adams

Best tip I can offer: When you are finished admiring your photo, and before showing it to anyone else, leave it alone for a day or two. Then see if it is really ready to show the world.

"Process your images. I hope I’m not revealing there is no Santa Claus here, but the truth is that every image in every professional magazine, website, billboard, book, poster, etc has been enhanced in some way, and for good reason. All images can benefit from adjustments in contrast, color, tone, clarity, vibrance, sharpness, cropping, or color. Some need more and some need less, but post processing of your images using any other popular photo-enhancing software is the next logical step after shooting. Many pros believe that a great photo is the equal result of good shooting and good processing. Yep, 50/50."

Buying a camera doesn't make you a photographer. It makes you a camera owner. --Anon.

There are times when I feel like I'm cutting lengths of 2 by 4s with a scroll saw.

All my photography is self explored.

My photography is not of the world as it is, or as I wish it to be, but as I see it. I suppose, collectively, it could be a self-portrait. Make of that what you will.

A note about my abstractions. They all say Beachhead Photos because they all start as photos.

If anybody cares, I use...

Pentax K30

Pentax 50-200 lens (my fave)

Sigma EX10-20 wide angle

Velbon Sherpa 800R tripod

Pentax AF-360FGZ flash

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10

I also have...

Pentax K100 D Super

Pentax 18-55 lens

Ricoh XR7 with XR Rikenon 1:2 50mm lens

Ricoh XR Speedlight 240

Vivitar Series1 70-210 lens

Please don't feel obligated to comment, but if you have something to say, I'm happy to hear it.

To all my contacts: I do look and appreciate your photos. I will leave comments if I have something to say, won't if I don't. If I make you a contact it is because I find your photography interesting and I do look when I can.

If you fave any of my images and you have no images available to me and/or no contacts, I will block you. Also, if all you do is Second Life, or anything like Second Life, then I will block you.
