Before there was even light, there was sound. This has definitely been Liz’s experience – music has been the life blood running through her veins pre-cognisance. But, as with all life-narratives, Liz’s includes many twists and turns that have brought her to where she is today.

Her background lies within the classical arts – she trained as a professional ballet dancer and classical musician from a very early age until 18, when a chance encounter introduced her to the world of electronic music. Fascinated, she decided to hang up her pointe shoes in favour of a microphone. She lived life as a singer songwriter for a few years – but soon felt a yearning to expand beyond this. It was here that her journey into electronic music production and DJing began. She enjoyed a number of years as a professional DJ, but eventually came to realise her true talent and passion lay within her musicianship and the craft of music production and composition. She is now forging a name for herself as a talented and dedicated music producer, songwriter, composer, vocalist – and mixing and mastering engineer.

Liz’s unique and distinctive sound has been formed and coloured by her life experiences. She is fascinated with the fusion of classical and electronic – the juxtaposition of light and dark. Her biggest influence though, is her love of beauty – and her sound can be best described as a hauntingly beautiful blend of dream pop, electronica and intelligent dance music. Emotive and moving melodies, crowned with crisp, glitchy beats. Music made from the heart, created to capture your heart. Her collaboration with the exquisite violinist, Minski Revolver takes her passion for the experimental fusion of classical and electronic a step further. Their immense collective talent demonstrates a breathtaking blend of contemporary classical and electronic music – drawing from the influences of trip hop, downtempo and dance music.

Composition and film scoring are also great passions for Liz. Her commercial career has seen her compose numerous short film scores, documentary and advertising sound tracks. She has worked with major international brands including EMI Production Music, Nokia, Diesel, Bose, Sky TV, L’Oreal and Julian Schnabel – and frequently writes for the many music licensing companies she has forged excellent relationships with. Professional, reliable, a pleasure to work with – and highly experienced in producing to a specific brief, Liz consistently delivers impeccable pieces of work for her clients, whether creating original pieces or remixing.

For Liz, music is a life-long love story, but like the greatest of love stories, it too has been filled with fear, struggle, despair, frustration, thoughts of abandonment – and practically every other element of the human condition that great passion brings to the surface!

She’s wrestled – repeatedly struggling with fear. For many years, various fears held her back from following her passion – but when we wrestle there has to eventually be a winner. Our darker tendencies do not disappear but rather, through the careful cultivation of awareness, we slowly come to realise that we are able to make a choice. We can chose to not be ruled by fear, doubt, frustration, despair – or rage. We can choose to follow our creative desires – our dreams.

Liz knew her calling to music existed for a reason – it was a call that had to be answered. She has come to realise that through pursuing her own dreams, she can help inspire others to do the same. This now has become the central focus of everything she does – to inspire others to follow their own creative desires.
