I began shooting digital photos in 2013 when I acquired a Sony Alpha SLT -A55V Digital camera. I took a few courses offered locally to understand the new digital world opening up to me, realizing the cost of processing film had just stopped forever. I joined our local, very active camera club and learned quickly of the 400 members, only three were Sony users (and that was including myself in the number)! The rest of the members were fairly divided between Nikon and Canon users. By 2015, under the guidance from my mentor, Milton Heiberg, I traded in my Sony to become a Canon user buying a Canon, EOS 7D Mark II. Nature photography became my chosen subject, focusing on "Birds" as an Audubon member. Living in Florida made it easy to photograph nature year round. Bird migrations throughout the state added to the ease of capturing rare birds not seen before. Most of my photographs were taken in Florida between the Georgia border on-down to the Keys. Florida has prairie land in the center of the state, Savannas and mangroves near the Everglades, pine forests and coastal lowlands. All of that is to say, there is an endless variety of wildlife to capture.
