The Observatory Science Centre

The Royal Observatory at Herstmonceux closed its doors in 1990. The legacy of Science at the site was to begin in a new form following an extensive programme of repair of the buildings and telescopes at the Grade II* listed monument . With work completed by 2004 thanks to funding by the National Heritage Lottery, the Observatory Science Centre welcomed its first visitors.

The ethos at the heart of the Centre is the dedication to promote science for everyone and now boasts over 100 interactive hands-on exhibits and exhibitions amongst the domes and telescopes.

The Observatory Science Centre is a place to explore, discover and learn.
