I was introduced to flickr by my lovely brother, who's a rather talented photo-journalist (TabascoKid, if you want to check out his photostream!).

I spent my time just feeling majorly awestruck by all the talent and skill I was seeing here at first, and thinking about what I couldn't do. But then I realised that wasn't the point. Once I became comfortable with my capabilities, I started to really enjoy planning and taking photos to put on flickr. Now that I'm having fun... well, now I've started learning.

I'm a full time mum to an energetic, characterful, exhausting, spectacular, three year old bundle of loveliness. I suffer from a severe mental illness, and my daughter helps me to stay more grounded, while bringing out the lighthearted child in me. For obvious reasons, I try to find other outlets for my highs and lows, so my little girl has as stable a mum as possible. Photography fits the bill perfectly. Whether it's taking a few quick snaps of something everyday but beautiful that's caught my eye, or setting aside an hour or so in the evening, to attempt to set up and capture an earlier idea - it keeps a part in my head ticking over for 'stuff that isn't everything else!' (Ooh, the eloquence! Does using the word 'eloquence' make up for it?).
