For many years photography was just something I did on holidays or days out. However in July 2017 I joined the Dublin Street Photography group, at first I was a bit hesitant to take candid pictures of people. My trusted Pentax K-5 was a big obvious camera not ideal for street so I bought a Canon Powershot 720HS; it was small, discreet and had a focal length up to 900mm. This eased me into the street photography but I began to bring it with me everyday something I couldn't do with the Pentax. My photography began to get better with practice. Then is May 2018 I was asked to go to the Philippines on work, as my photography had been progressing I had decided to upgrade my K-5 for a K-70. In the end I bought my new camera with some lenses (Pentax 10-17mm and a Tamron 90mm F2.8 Macro). A combination of my surroundings and my new gear gave my photography another boost.

On return from my trip to Manila i decided to put together an Excel course on Udemy. For this purpose I bought a Lumix G7, I took it out the first day with the Street Photography group and while the mirrorless fromat and EVF took a little getting used to I loved the discreetness. Since then I gave my Canon to my girlfriend and bought a Ricoh GR III. I now bring this with me everyday, due to it's size I can have a good quality camera in my pocket everyday. After moving to Manila I started using a Pentax MX-1 alongside my Ricoh for Street, and a Sony A7 II for trying old vintage glass from Pentax, Canon, Minolta etc.

My favourite photography genres are Street, Urban, Night and more recently Macro photography.
