I am a retired mechanical and biomedical engineer who came to photography relatively late in life, as a result of attending an exhibition ("Through Their Own Eyes") of the works of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, while it was in Sydney. It was Adams' "Monolith, the face of Half Dome" that really did it for me at the time.

 

As I am not able to tramp around in wild places, I tend to shoot things that are relatively small, close and commonplace, in ways that show their less familiar aspects. I use Kodak TMX or TMY film in either 120 format (Mamiya RB67) or 4x5 format (MPP Mk8).
