Lifelong railway enthusiast from south Wales with a particular interest in Western Region hydraulics, 33s and West German railways.
My first photo's were taken as a child in 1980 with an old camera of my father's which I was subsequently allowed to use on a few occasions over the following six years. However, most of the photo's I took from 1983 until 1986 were on a Boots Instamatic, a terrible camera which even in the best conditions produced very grainy results.
From 1987 until 2003 I used two different 35mm Canon SLRs and shot almost exclusively on Kodakrome slide film (64 ASA until c.1996, then mostly 200 - the latter not ageing well). My enthusiasm then waned for the best part of a decade until my son became old enough to take an interest, although I continued to take the occasional digital phot. Like everyone, I wish I'd taken more...
I don't claim to be any great shakes behind the lens but then you haven't paid to see these so don't complain! Nevertheless, please respect the copyright as they are all (with four exceptions) my own work. If you would like to use any, please ask first. Thanks.
For those of you interested in German breweries, I have a separate Flickr site devoted to them at www.flickr.com/photos/154380849@N02/
