Self taught passionate amateur photographer, taking photos since my teens for well over 60 years. Slowly uploading photos old and new. Interested in all forms of photography, but Bird and Wildlife photos my main focus nowadays, trying to capture something more than a bird on a stick with behaviour and movement which is interesting (sometimes with a loss of technical quality). Also enjoy Street Scenes in particular, Architecture & Landscape and even an old portrait.

I now realise looking back and especially with regards to 'Black and White' Streets scenes, I am very much influenced by the Photography Year Books of the 50's and 60's that my grandfather had in his house which I looked at as a teenager not that I can emulate that quality. Also my grandfather took Life magazine with photos of the world including the Vietnam War which had a big impact on me as a young person. Then there were the colour supplements to the Sunday newspapers and their photos, plus National Geographical Magazine. The recently deceased Martin Parr was also one of my favourites with his gritty no nonsense photos.

Hopefully my photos are not too pretentious and I am always willing to learn and take inspiration from some of the brilliant photos I find on Flickr.
