The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women in Rwanda.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in Rwanda has built its support for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women upon three key premises:

1. The strong commitment of the Government of Rwanda and its vision for equality between men and women

2. The second is upon its own institutional foundation established by the then United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) through its strategic and creative interventions to push for gender equality and for the empowerment of women.

3. Under the UNDAP framework, the One UN with UN Women as a lead agency continues to support the country’s efforts to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment in Inclusive Economic Transformation, Accountable Governance, Human Development and Humanitarian Response.
