Fellowship Square Foundation, Inc. (FS) is a faith-based, nonprofit that provides affordable housing, resident programs, and services for seniors in the Washington, D.C.-Metropolitan area who have limited income and resources. Started by Rev. Dr. John A. Scherzer (1901-1994) in 1960, the first Fellowship house in Reston, Virginia welcomed residents in 1971. From 1979-1984, the Foundation added three more communities, another in Reston, one in Woodbridge, Va, and one in Upper Malboro, Md. Today, FS continues to provide and advocate for affordable housing that enhances resident independence, self-confidence and well-being.

FS works closely with SL Nusbaum Realty Co., the management company, through general oversight and management of four Fellowship House properties—Hunters Woods (Reston, Va.), Lake Anne (Reston, Va.), Lake Ridge (Woodbridge, Va.) and Largo Landing (Upper Marlboro, Md.).
