DJ Disciple (David Banks) is a Brooklyn-based house music DJ with decades of hits in the industry. Having spent several years building his reputation with explosive sets at Pacha (Ibiza) and Ministry of Sound (UK), he was named one of the world’s top 100 DJs by DJ Magazine. His Grammy-nominated 2002 hit single “Caught Up” was also featured on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. After appearing on MTV and BBC Radio 1, Disciple has certainly made his mark on the house music scene. In 1997, he started his own record label, Catch 22 Records. This year marks his 25th year of making music with Catch 22.

 

D Disciple and Henry Kronk collaborate on a June 15tH, 2023 book. In their debut collaborative work, DJ Disciple and journalist Henry Kronk take readers on the winding journey of house music in New York. Told from the perspective of a house music veteran and legend, The Beat, The Scene, The Sound generously offers an in-depth look at how DJs, promoters, fans, and others shaped house music culture and played a part in its evolution. Through interviews, photographs, and personal stories, they look at some of the most unifying and heartbreaking moments that made the city’s house music scene what it is today.
