Officially a wrinkly gentleman of leisure, I roam the countryside, fields, parks and woodland around the Nottingham area accompanied by my lovely Border collie Winnie. My hobby takes us to some lovely places, and we meet interesting folk of all kinds. Dog walkers predominate, obviously, since we're out in all and any weather, rain, shine, snow, frost, mist, perhaps drawing the line at hurricanes...

While I'll happily shoot pics of any kind which interest me, my special love is the natural world, especially in close-up ormacro, whether it's tiny wild flowers, butterflies and moths, or some of the fascinating and bizarre members of the insect order.

Winnie will happily lie patiently, one ear up and one ear down, while I perhaps lie full length on the ground to get the shot I want; then she'll bound up ready to go as soon as I look like moving. The perfect nature lover's dog!

And local parks of course, are a wondrous source of cool dog portraits. We're fortunate in having no onerous local ordinances of the 'Dogs must be on lead at all times' type - so far...
