I have been taking photographs since the age of nine in December 1954 when I was presented with a Box Brownie camera for Christmas, together with a copy of the book "How to take good pictures", published by Kodak. That book was immediately read in depth from cover to cover!
Predictably, the first photograph I took was of Puffing Billy, (the narrow-gauge train in the Dandenong Ranges, about 50km east of Melbourne, Australia) and steam trains have dominated my photography ever since.
But an interest in steam trains has taken me to many wonderful places, and hence scenery, architecture and historic objects have also been targets of my cameras.
