While I have an ancient degree in photography, worked a short time as a professional, (hated it) , sold through a few galleries and been in some shows, now it's just a fun diversion for me. We travel a fair amount and I get particularly interested in all the various things I can point my cameras at. (This of course, at times, leaves me much less than popular with my wife.)

I'm never asked by anyone who knows me to show them travel photos of where we've been, I simply don't take those kind of photos, (yep, sometimes I do regret it). However, for me, that's what postcards are for.

Some people are incredibly well versed in being able to articulate exactly what it is they see or feel at the time they take an image. Some explanations can sometimes almost border on the mystical. I believe it was Willie Mays, when once asked if he could break down all the various aspects of what goes through his mind, when a pitcher is about to throw a pitch. His answer........I see the ball, I hit the ball. I believe my photographic approach is seemingly similar in a simplistic way, I see a potential image and I just take it. That said, I do think about afterwards.
