As an avid photographer for many years, my tendency is to choose subjects for their potential rather than their immediate appeal, finding creativity in the challenge. Seeking the unusual and presenting a fresh perspective on the familiar have become central principles. To me, the quality of light, along with the interplay of light and shadow is fundamental to most photographic compositions as it creates the illusion of three-dimensional form within an otherwise flat medium. My philosophy is to photograph primarily for oneself, to remain observant, to pursue originality, and above all, to take pleasure in the process. As my personal vision does not always align with popular validation, any positive reception of my work is regarded as a welcome bonus.
