The City of Vaughan is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Canada. With a population of more than 335,000 people, Vaughan continues to be the place for families and businesses to thrive. In 2016, Vaughan was ranked among the top places in Ontario to do business by Canadian Business and PROFIT Magazine and one of Canada's Best Places to Live by MoneySense Magazine. Vaughan includes the communities of Concord, Kleinburg, Maple, Thornhill and Woodbridge.
Officially incorporated as a city in 1991, Vaughan was the first municiplaity in York Region and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016. Its roots date back to the 1700s when the first townships were created. The City of Vaughan is a multicultural community where 105 different languages are spoken. According to the 2011 Census, 45 per cent of the population is comprised of immigrants and 27 per cent of its population is made up of visible minorities.
Vaughan has a rich history and strong civic pride, and continues to grow into a city all its residents and businesses can take pride in.
