I'm kinda new to Flickr. "Kinda" means that I'm just now starting to learn how to use all the different features. I'll admit that I've been a Flickr member for more than a year. So why am I not up to speed? The only thing I needed Flickr for was for the codes it generates for pictures, and that's about it. I never interacted with anyone on this site. I never left a comment. One odd day I joined a handful of groups but I never participated in any of them. I didn't know this profile page was here until today. I didn't know what Explore was. The codes were all I ever needed.

Suffice to say that whenever I strayed over to another page it was like trying to read a Chinese newspaper. None of it made any sense. So that's why I consider myself a virtual rookie here at Flickr. Will I stay? I never liked putting all my eggs in one basket. I'll join SmugMug and a few others just for the experience and then go from there.

Earlier this week I spent some time checking out the photostreams of other users. That was a first for me. I left a few comments, which was another first. After that, I realized what I was missing all these months. I enjoyed viewing your photos. What was I thinking, why hadn't I gotten involved sooner? Better late than never, I guess.

My photos are messed up, disorganized, and not the least bit viewer friendly. I'm having knee surgery tomorrow morning on June 17,2008. It'll take a few days for me to get my bearings, cut through the cobwebs, and lose the crutches. After that I intend to organize my images and then go from there. How long will that take? I'm hoping to have it all together by July 4th, maybe sooner. Till then, here's to good health to all :)
