What are you supposed to say about yourself without sounding self centric?

I do feel photography is art. I love art.

I love being on Flickr and seeing all of the wonderful work. But one thing puzzles me... why do people feel the need to tell you they don't like your artistic choices? I was taught that if you don't have anything positive to say, keep going. So if you see something on my photostream and you don't like it...that's okay..just keep going.
