Hello, my name is 胡以穌, otherwise known as Appledog. I'm a Canadian living in Taiwan.

I take pictures of things I find to be interesting; if something looks interesting I'll try to take a picture of it. In this way I collect memories. I love to look back at my photos, of places I have been and people I have met. There is something about looking at a photo that helps you remember things. I find this process therapeutic. Without these photos, many important memories would be lost forever. We would eventually come to forget everything, even who we are.

In a sense, our lives are transient, and everything we strive to collect will one day disappear. Taking photographs could be seen as a fight against that. I would say instead that "When nothing we do matters, the only thing that matters is what we do."

Right now I am interested in street photography, so I don't upload pictures of my pets, meals or children. But they're there. Thousands of them.. sitting on my hard drive. I can't bear to delete them. But I will spare you. For now.
