Drag to set position!
As a Travel Photographer, I am sharing some of my images, to inspire others to consider going to some of these destinations. I like to step back in time whenever possible and this will become evident in many of my choices. Medieval walled communities are a favourite, but many more are still just on my bucket list. I have always been drawn to places like Venice and Dubrovnik, but these days it has become a challenge to deal with the thousands of tourists. I recommend that you stay in the community so that you can explore before or after the influx of the crowds each day. In Trinidad, Cuba I discovered that 7: 00 am was perfect time to see the real community. Children of all ages walk or ride to school, some the younger ones with their parents. Often I would be the only tourist around. In Vietnam there are 54 ethnic groups that arrived hundreds of years ago, as nomads. Many set up communities in the Central Highlands and still use traditional farming methods and and speak their own unique language. Taking a guided tour is by far the best way to learn how they live and get those special picture opportunities.
