You can also see many of these Photos over at Airliners.net with nearly 5 million views! and another thing, this collection are all my own Photos I have taken, some of which go back nearly 50 years. I started out taking Digital photos in 2004 with a Canon 10D and the brilliant 100-400 lens. The vast majority of my film collection was taken on Nikon SLRs.

There are plenty of Photographers on flikr who are using slides they have collected and putting them on FLICKR and elsewhere and not making it clear they did not take the photo.

As someone once said to me, “shoot the common stuff because in a few years they wont be around and you regret not doing so.” How true is that?

I have been very very lucky in my career as it allowed me to travel the world freely and to some memorable and fantastic places.

I thought I would share my collection of slides, because otherwise many of the pictures would have languished in boxes and albums not to be seen ever.

No one else in my family are remotely interested in this aviation hobby and it was like a “Busman’s Holiday” for me.

I have met many great and talented photographers over the years when working and visiting many airports around the world.

I have been inspired by Aviation Photographers over the years, such as SPA, Robbie Shaw, Bruce Drum, Guido Buileman, Richard Vandervord, Rolf Walner,John Adlard and nowadays many more on Airliners.net, Jetphotos and of course FLIKR.

A big thank you as well to Dave Apps with all his really helpful heads ups over many years at Heathrow. Without his brilliant help I would have missed many of the rarer visitors.

I also have an extensive negative and print collection of Photos in a large part due to Tony Best who was one of the UKs top printers and he was so much better than the run of the mill high street printers who used far more automation than he ever did. This collection was taken on Olympus and Nikon Cameras.

I do have an extensive landscape, Animal, Architecture and bird library as well. My Bird collection is slowly growing and a big part of this is my friend and old work colleague Mark James who has gotten me to get out and visit Wild life trusts and Bird reserves.

Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy looking at the Photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them.
