My simple philosophy is that an image should try and invite a story or evoke some emotion, rather than just represent what's in front of the camera, although there's always room for "deadpan" photography, scientific & technical work etc. It's probably more about interpretation - doesn't always work of course, so sometimes needs a little sideways thought.

I use mainly FUJI kit with prime lenses - preferring people, social documentary, Fine Art photography, portraiture, studio/creative work or anything that allows me more than 1 second to think about it.

For anything less than that, I'll use my FUJI X-Pro 2 or GFX50R - these have electronic & optical viewfinders (rangefinder style) which I find ideal for "catching that moment".

Increasingly I'm working with medium format, monochrome/B&W whilst exploring photography as contemporary art ... too many inspirational shooters out there!

I dropped Adobe Camera Raw some years ago - images are now developed with Capture One. As a Fujiholic, most images are also enhanced with Fujifilm in-camera simulation tweaks and plug-in software.
